Years ago, donuts were special sweet treats made in the same store they were sold at. They had flavor, moisture, and were actually deliciously addictive. Each town and village had their own place where the townspeople could count on a freshly made donut to brighten up their morning. With the closing of many small bakeries and the commercialization of the national chain donut shops, now all too often, they are made in commissary factories and don’t even arrive in the store until hours after that are made, where they sit and get stale for even longer until they are bought.
Hot Dippity Donuts comes from our desire to bring you back to the days when you could buy a flavorful, freshly made donut. We then add the modern twist of customizing your donuts to order with your choice of icings, glazes, and toppings. Alas, we present, the first donut shop of its kind in Westchester, Hot Dippity Donuts.
The owners, Evan and Debbie Liaskos, are not new to the food business and both love food. Evan grew up in the restaurant and catering business, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, and worked at prestigious casino resorts as a chef around the country before returning back to his roots in his family’s restaurant and catering hall, the Cortlandt Colonial Manor in Cortlandt Manor, NY. Debbie, worked at delis, and eventually started working at Bagels on Hudson as an employee, eventually becoming the manager. After marrying, Evan and Debbie became owners of Bagels on Hudson and turned around what was a struggling business at the time. The bagels are made the old fashioned way, slowly proofed, boiled, and baked early in the morning every day. Many flavors of whipped cream cheese are available and salads are made fresh daily. In 2013, the Croton Creamery was added to the bagel store space, serving up delicious ice cream cones, sundaes, and shakes, and ice cream treats on a seasonal basis. 2016 brings the addition of Hot Dippity Donuts into the same storefront with the same passion for top quality products that has made the bagel store and the Croton Creamery so successful.
We sincerely hope you enjoy our freshly made donuts and welcome any suggestions you may have to make our donuts even better – Evan and Debbie Liaskos
